Ania Szczygieł

Ania Szczygieł’s creative practice is a story of transformation- of matter, relationships and meaning. A graduate of the Cracow Schools of Art and Fashion Design, she became the winner of the Cracow Fashion Awards in 2021 and was also a finalist of the competition. Between 2018 and 2021, she was a scholarship holder of the Polish Talent Support program, supporting emerging Polish designers internationally.

Over the years, she has presented her collections at numerous fashion weeks and festivals, including Cracow Fashion Week, Wroclaw Fashion Week, Budapest Central European Fashion Week, Riga Fashion Week, Off Fashion, Open’er Festival Fashion Stage, Virus Festival.

Her work has also been featured and highlighted in international publications such as Vogue Italia, Vogue Polska, Vogue CZ, Vogue Adria, Glamour, L’Officiel Baltic, Metal Magazine, Elle, Schön Magazine, 10 Magazine Deutsch.

Through her brand SZCZYGIEL-, she redefines the concept of upcycling. It is not merely the reuse of materials, but a conscious process of transformation- turning deadstock fabrics and discarded resources into objects with renewed identity. Each design is produced in limited quantities, emphasizing uniqueness while standing in opposition to overproduction.

Her aesthetic treats form as manifesto. Construction becomes a tool of dialogue- with the body, with space, with time.

The latest collection expands this narrative by exploring the space „in between”- between what is organic and fragile and what is linear and controlled. Inspired by the landscape of Snowdonia, the collection translates natural tension into structural forms and a cool, earthy colour palette. Each piece becomes a bridge- an attempt to capture a moment of balance in a world defined by acceleration and contrast.

In Ania’s vision, fashion is not a seasonal product but a carrier of ideas. It is wearable art in which form and material speak about responsibility, relationships, and the future.
