New Bulgarian University was founded in 1991 in Sofia. The fashion design programs at NBU offer innovative training based on practical projects. They include research and experiments using various creative tools from the fields of art and design. During the course, students master the techniques necessary for designing and producing a fashion product and, through creative experimentation, develop their individual ideas and concepts.
The goal of the fashion design program at NBU is to produce versatile fashion specialists who, through various creative practices, incorporate critical thinking into the design process. The themes are focused on creating fashion with an emphasis on developing imagination and creative identity. With the help of experimental tasks, students form their individual style and define the context of their work, while being challenged to develop their fashion product through originality, critical judgment, and technical skills.
